Purpose of PABA: The purpose for which PABA was formed, is to foster, encourage and promote the playing of the sport of basketball for the children of the Plymouth school district. This will be done through various means in order to develop and promote physical fitness, competitive spirit, team play, and good sportsmanship. This organization was formed in order to develop stronger basketball programs at our schools. Also this organization will act as a supporting role for those participating; both students and coaches or those in other capacities; and to foster and promote understanding in the fundamentals and the fine points of basketball.

Guidelines for PABA:
  • Open to all 3-8th graders who live in or are school choiced to the Plymouth School District
  • PABA season runs from October thru April unless prior approval is given by the board. Uniforms and equipment are due back no later than April 30th
  • There are no cuts and teams will be divided equally based on talent if there are enough players for more than one team
  • Everyone who has a child participating agrees to volunteer at hosted events suchs as our PABA tournament and/or league games
  • 3-4 graders should have equal playing time; 5-6 graders may not have as much equal playing time; 7-8 graders may not have equal playing time

Guidelines for what PABA will fund:
  • PABA will NOT fund 3-on-3 teams or games
  • PABA will fund tournament or league games that are all inclusive of PABA players
  • PABA will NOT fund tournaments or league games when a select group of players are chosen ("A" team) thereby not including all eligible PABA players on the team These teams are welcome to form but will need to be funded by sources other than PABA
  • PABA will NOT fund events outside the season (May-September)
